iphone a-go-go & hipstamatic (it's apptastic!)

I have been a Mac user since my lovely husband bought me my first ibook in 2006.
It was love at first sight!
But, I am the first to admit I have been a little slow on the uptake when it comes to the iphone.
Okay, here is my confession - I have owned an iphone for 5 months and it has been in the box, unused, until yesterday.
So now I can tell you, yes, the iphone is good, very good.
I love how Mac products are so intuitive, like you already know how to use them.
And what about those apps?
Mmmmmm my fav app has to be Hipstamatic. Digital photography has never looked so analog.
Grainy, gritty, makes the everyday and mundane objet into something quite fabulous.
Check out these pics, taken with Hipstamatic.
Just random stuff around my house, I might just be addicted....

Fathers Day

Dear Dad,
Happy Fathers Day!
I just wanted to write and tell you how much I miss you.
The other side of the world is just too far away, sniff.
I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you.
Thank you for being strong and wise and loving and kind.
Thank you for always going above and beyond.
Thank you for flying to London, when I told you I was not coping and needed your help.
Thank you for being the BEST Grandpa to Max.
Thank you for welcoming Richard into our family, and supporting and encouraging us.
Thank you for showing me how to live out my faith in a real way.
Thank you for coming over to mow the lawns.
Thank you for teaching me to catch trout.
Thank you for calling me 'flower'.
Thank you for being you.
Love you Dad.
From your Jo

Separation angst

Dear Reader,
Today I am in need of a pep talk.
A couple of weeks ago after a really full on day with Max, I decided the time had come for my little man to experience the joys of nursery school.
Don't get me wrong, I love having him around. He makes me laugh all day long.
BUT, as we are living in London with no Grandmas or Grandpas or sisters to take Max off my hands for a few hours here and there, it is a necessity for my sanity to have some time out.
So Max is going to go to nursery Monday & Wednesday mornings.
Today is the second trial day and I am dreading it!
He didn't handle the first trial well at all, neither did I!
When I tried to leave him with the very capable and lovely careworkers, his screams could be heard all over Fulham.
So my worry is, as of Monday, he is on his own. How will I leave him if he is so upset?
I need an action plan, I need advice, I need help!
Dear reader, how do I deal with this?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

The perfect rose

Yesterday I was walking the streets of Fulham at 5.30am with Max.
This is not something that I want to make a habit of, but I am trying to get Max off the bottle so he is waking and screaming the house down at all hours.
There is a certain house in a certain street which has the most amazing roses out the front.
I KNOW it's naughty but I just couldn't resist this ONE LITTLE ROSE, just one.

A Bumper Crop.

If you go down to the bottom of Max's garden, you're bound for a big surprise!

Three ripe and juicy little ruby red gems - yum!

My strawberries are coming through thick and fast.

Just in time for Wimbledon......xxx

Polo & Veuve. (aka pretending to be posh.)

The Mint Polo at Hurlingham Park.

Veuve, yum, but not cheap at £11 a glass!

Max, super, super thirsty after running around like a crazy man!

Yup, really thirsty eh. (Just water folks!)

Oh yeah, better watch a bit of the game.....

What a fantastic way to spend a sunny Friday afternoon.
