A very London Winter

A wintery ramble through Kensington Palace Gardens. 

I feel like I may finally be getting the hang of this London Winter thing. 

I still DON'T LIKE IT but I'm starting to see the beauty in the frozen fragility. 

And yes, bundling up the kids and taking a bracing walk through gardens such as these is quite a good time. 

Especially when your final destination is a cosy pub!

A bit of a plan.....

The plan is.........relax, remember what Christmas is truly about. (Not styling the perfect Chrissy feast or buying the 'I never realised this was missing from my life until now' perfect present for hubs.)
Keep it simple.
IGNORE constant barrage of marketing from M & S, Debenhams and their ilk. (I will not be frolicking in the snow in the perfect party frock, berry red lip and 4 inch heels, and I am okay with that.)
Try and leave the house every day. Even if it is peeing down/snowing/minus 20 degrees. Fresh air is good.
Do my best to restrain Max from opening all the windows on his advent calender straight away, try and teach patience by example (hard!!!)
Moisturise!
Stop looking at Facebook pics of glamorous friends in sunny climes having a fabulous time. (Love you Nae!!!!)
Get some quality sleep.
Stop online shopping immediately, apart from Ocado obviously.

Maybe I have finally conquered the foe that is winter.
I do have a little secret weapon this year - sunshine on tap in the form of my darling wee Finn.
Just seeing him smile pours warmth into my soul!

Colour riot!

November is my most blurgh month. Every morning I wake up, roll over & rip open my curtain to check how many leaves are left on the tree across the road. I know when the last flaming orange leaf falls, that's it. At least three months of staring out at bricks and grey sky......
My husband, who is a cup half full type person, keeps chirping on about how it's only six weeks until the shortest day of the year, then summer is practically a breath away. Nice one Rich!
The antidote? Gorgeous glossy pics from around the web. Thank goodness it's summer time somewhere in the world!
