Sunday stroll

After being in quarantine yesterday with Max, we were 'itching' to get out of the house!
We headed to Fulham Palace with Max's mate Josephine.
(Her Mum is unafraid of the Pox - good for her!)
Max was definitely not his sparkly self, but I know he was happy to have some fresh air......

Chicken soup, chicken pox....

Everyone needs chicken soup in their lives.
It's restorative, comforting and mega-tasty.
Today my little man is down and out with the chicken pox.
He has had a bad run.
The soup I am making is from my favourite cookbook Fay's Family Food.
Yes, that's Fay Ripley of the Tesco ads fame (but don't hold that against her!)

All you need is.......
2 chicken legs, skin off
180g sweet potato, chopped
2 celery sticks, chopped
2 large carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 bay leaf
zest of 1 lemon
1 litre vegetable stock
a sprinkling of fresh chopped parsley

All you do is......
Put all ingredients except parsley into a large saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer for an hour with the lid on.
Take out the chicken legs, shred the chicken, discarding the bones and put back into the soup.
Serve with parsley scattered on top.
Season in your bowl.

Yummo!

The picture show

My favourite app on the old iphone right now is 'Picture Show'.
You take a normal picture of anything and this clever app will give you 24 versions of it.
Pop Art, Mirror, Polaroid, Cinema etc.

For example, here is a pic of one of my paintings......

And here it is all messed up.......

Reeeeally like this one.......

Dramatic, in Black and White.......

Here's more. A sketch I did of the top of my mannequin.
The original......

Yellow tone.....

Dual image......

Quad imagine.....

Pop Art.....

And finally the lovely rose, my fav!
The original......

And all the amazing variations!!

I am SUPER inspired to use this tool to help me come up with compositions for my paintings. Watch this space!!!

A morning in Notting Hill

Today I spent a lovely morning wandering the streets of Notting Hill with my friend Penny.
Penny is in week 35 of pregnancy and is blooming gorgeous!
After a fabulous coffee and croissant stop we made our way to Pedlars store just off Portobello Road.
As you know I am a BIG Pedlars fan, so this was a real treat.

My top picks from Pedlars are:

This stunning canvas bell tent.....

These french apple crates......

These beautiful 1930's seltzer bottles.....

And STRING!!!!
Yup, I came away from Pedlars with a lovely spool of their finest string.
A very happy customer!
