Presents, pies & persistant coughs

Hello dears.
Hoping your Christmas was as fun and special as mine this year?!
I was so spoilt with my pressies. (See below!)

I was most excited to open a little box from Rust Jewelry and find this quill necklace with a wee pearl. It's so pretty, thanks Ricardo!

Aren't the Rob Ryan plates brill??! (Thanks H & A.)
Mum and Dad spoilt me with a new Le Creuset and a book which I am already obsessed with!
The best pressie though was having my little family, my parents and a few very special friends to share the day with.

This year Richard was in charge of ordering the turkey.
One thing you need to know about my husband - he will always up size. BIG is apparently GOOD.
Which might explain why he came home with a 7 kg turkey!
Now our fridge is heaving with the leftovers.

Day 1.
Turkey leftovers become........

Turkey & Stilton Pie.

Complete with I *heart* MUM xxx (Thanks Max!)

It went down a treat with leftover red cabbage, potatoes and peas.

Well, I'm off to bed. We are sleeping in with Max at the mo, as the parents are staying, and the poor little man has croup! I am hoping for a little more sleep than we got last night!!

Getting organised

This week the papers, bills, letters, cards, pens, crayons, staplers and keys on our console table finally tipped my sanity over the edge!
ENOUGH!
Time to get organised.
I found some lovely sturdy boxes and got to work sorting and de-cluttering.

Another excuse to use my alphabet stamps - oh yeah!

I found these great printed luggage tags at Paperchase.

Richard - your key collection is now above the oven! Ha!

Oh BTW did you see that package in my 'mail' box a few pics back? It's from Rust Jewelry!!! Pour Moi? I think so!

In other news......Richard made me this fabulous shelf!
It's perfecto for my vintage bread and flour tins and leaves the bench clear of clutter.

Our poor old tree has been consigned to the garden as it was dying at a rapid rate.
So here is my Christmas tree take two! (Fake it til you make it.)

Is anyone else obsessed with red berries right now? I love these so much and want them in every room in the house!

That's all from me for now.
Nite nite.

Junkaholic Junky

Good evening to one and all.
How are these last days before Christmas going?
I am so chilled out. ASTONISHING! Well I did just treat myself to a massage today and then came home and fell asleep for three hours. These are the wonderful things you can do when your parents come to stay and they insist on looking after your crazy toddler!
Max is OBSESSED with his Grandpa. Oh my! How will I break it to him when G'Pa has to go? Not looking forward to that!
Speaking of obsessions, and in the nicest possible way, I am kinda obsessed with this blog - Tales of a Junkaholic.
Please, please, please check it out.
I wish I had just a pinch of Artemis' creativity, energy and style!

Here are a few pics of what's happening in the life of this Junkaholic.....

FYI - Don't go anywhere near a Waitrose today! I was queueing for 45 mins!

Going crackers!

Good morning all!
Here are a few pics of my customised crackers and napkins.
Still a work in progress, but getting there!

I picked up a set of alphabet stamps in Paris, so everything is being stamped right now!
How are your Christmas preparations going?

A little window into my Paris

Ho hum.
Back from our mini break in Paris.
We had a great time. It was mainly ALL about the food and keeping warm!
Eating copious amounts of rich food does actually keep you quite warm, as does drinking vin chaud and chocolate chaud mmmmmmm......
I feel like I may have put on about 10 kg!
Plus a few other pics of the wintery gorgeousness.....
