I don't want to be a 'mummy blogger' but.....

It's kinda where my head is at right now!

Things which have happened that have blown my mind so far:

1. I didn't think I could have the capacity to love my little family more, but along comes Finn and - BOOM! My heart is blown wide open again and I have love flowing over the edges of my (coffee) cup!
(This must be why people have more & more & more children me thinks. More little darlings = more love = Cool.)

2. I am much more confident this time around. I remember like it was yesterday having Max. Waiting outside the midwifes clinic, my head buzzing with a million questions. Was Max a challenging baby or was I just unprepared for what it took to be a Mum? Either way I went through the fire and came out the other side. I just need to look at Max to know - I can do this.

3. My husband is BRILLIANT and the little things we scrap about mean nothing in the big picture because he has my back.

Today is another milestone.
Finn is 6 weeks old today & I am allowed to drive again! Woopwoop!

Today was super dooper spring like!
I am so excited this winter is nearly done and dusted.
Feel like I am coming to life again.
Time for some pretties to inspire.....

My two sons....

Max - loud, hyper, high maintenance, clever, sneaky, dinosaur obsessed, gorgeous, mucky, awesome, very BOY, my little mate, first love of my life.
I love your spirit, your confidence, your (pretend) grumpy face!
You grab life with both hands and give it a good shake while asking why? why? why?
You are so clever to know all those dinosaur names! I am in awe.
I think you are the bees knees my little man (sorry, my 'BIG BOY').
Love Mama. xxx

Finn - sweetheart, snuggle bunny, gentle soul, rosebud lips and deep thoughtful eyes, head smells like sweet milk and baby, joy of my days & nights.
I am loving getting to know you my darling wee man.
I feel like you have completed our little family and I am so happy you are here!
I am completely smitten.
See you in about 15 mins for your dream feed (hehehehe).
Love Mama. xxx

Postpartum Tumtum

6 weeks postpartum, ho hum still have a big tum.
I now know there is a reason why I still look 5 months preggo.
I have an umbilical hernia + serious muscle separation!
I have to have an operation to sort it out!
This will involve 5 nights stay in hospital!
Sheesh!
Having these babies sure puts your body under serious strain. (Still worth it though!)
So I have been doing a bit of casual shopping, trying to find clothes that hide my deformed shape.
I am happy to say GAP & Monsoon (good ol high street) have come through with awesome peasant blousey type tops which are doing the trick.
I also managed to get to the hairdresser yesterday, although I am not so sure about the outcome! I now have a proper fringe or bangs - eck! Richard says it makes me look younger. (Yes, I do remember having this exact haircut when I was 17!)
Oh well!

Special Day - 10th Feb

Six years ago today I was working in my friend Vanessa's shop & planning my move to Paris.
It was a Friday afternoon and you walked into the shop and into my heart. (Cheesy!)
A year to the day later we are standing in front of our friends and family saying our vows.
You threw my best laid plans into disarray! (This was a GOOD thing!)
But here we are 5 years later.......
Happy anniversary Rich.
Love you lots!

Tough

Today I am finding the going a bit tough.
I feel like I have a lot of balls up in the air right now.
I always feel like I can cope as long as everything stays as it is.
If the poop should hit the fan I don't really have a safety net.
No back up plan.

The things I am finding tough are (in no particular order):

1. Max is super needy at the moment.
He needs 200% of my attention at all times. It's exhausting!
Do any of my readers have advice on dealing with 'number 1' when 'number 2' comes along?

2. Feeding through the night with Finn, every hour or so some nights, means sleep depravation and a grumpy Mummy. (Please note: he is super cute and makes feeding through the night a pleasure BUT some sleep would be nice!)

3. I reeeeeeeally want to get my hair done, but this will not be possible until Finn is in more of a routine, so I look about 100 years old right now!

4. My back is sore again ooowwwwww!

5. My family are all a 24 hour plane trip away boo!

On the up side, I got one of my 'jobs' done yesterday. I took Finn to get his passport photo taken. How do you make a three week old look at the camera with a neutral expression and eyes open??!!! It was difficult I can tell ya, but after a lot of tickling and blowing cold air on his face we managed it! Hooray! Another step closer to getting on that plane and getting outta here! (To NZ for my sisters wedding.)

Anyway.......I am fine really, just a bit stretched but we will get there.
Thanks for listening.
